01BEFORE ENROLLINGCheck your eligibility10+2 Physics & Maths · Computer Number · Medicals

For the Indian CPL route, you need 10+2 Physics and Mathematics from a recognised board or accepted equivalent. If either subject is missing, NIOS offers a route to complete the relevant Senior Secondary subject. Check acceptance of your documents with DGCA before committing to flight training.

Apply for your DGCA Flight Crew Computer Number through Pariksha. Plan Class 2 and Class 1 medical assessments early through the current eGCA process so you understand your medical eligibility before major training spend.

03HEIDELBERG, SOUTH AFRICA · 15-MONTH COST ESTIMATEComplete flight trainingFour phases · 213 scheduled flight hours · CPLZAR 876,300Programme estimate

Training at Skylink’s Inversion Flight Academy follows four phases: Private Pilot Licence, night rating, solo and cross-country hour building, then multi-engine and instrument rating. Its 2026–27 programme lists 213 training hours, including 15 multi-engine and 40 instrument-flight hours. The fleet guide lists primary Cessna 150/152 and Piper PA-38 trainers, cross-country Cessna 172 and Piper PA-28 aircraft, and Piper PA-34 Seneca twins for multi-engine work.

The brochure’s ZAR 876,300 estimate includes the scheduled training programme, accommodation, utilities, scheduled transport and amenities for up to 15 months. Additional hours, longer stays, visa, travel, repeat exams, some third-party fees and equipment can cost extra. Weather, progress and operations can affect completion time. 04BACK IN INDIAConvert, rate and applyDGCA conversion · type rating · airline preparation₹15–30 lakhIndicative type rating

Bring your valid South African licence and ratings, verified flying records, certified logbooks, DGCA exam results and medical records into the Indian conversion process. DGCA assesses current medical, examinations, experience and any applicable checks; the exact steps depend on your documents and logbook.

Choose an aircraft-specific type rating around the airline opportunity and its entry requirements. Skylink’s indicative type-rating range is ₹15–30 lakh, varying by aircraft fleet and training location. Prepare for aptitude tests, technical interviews, group exercises and simulator assessments. Conversion and airline-preparation costs are separate; a CPL or type rating does not guarantee an airline job.

Good questions.
Clear answers.

The things students and parents ask before taking the next step.

Ask the admissions team
Are ground classes and flight training both in Chennai?

DGCA ground classes and simulator training take place in Chennai. CPL flight training takes place at our own Inversion Flight Academy in South Africa.

Can I enquire only about DGCA ground classes?

Yes. Choose ground classes in your enquiry and select Chennai as your preferred campus. Ask about subjects, batch dates, the timetable and fees.

How much does the training cost?

The 2026–27 brochure lists Chennai ground classes at ₹1.80 lakh plus GST for 5–6 months. The Inversion brochure estimates South Africa training at ZAR 876,300 for 213 training hours and up to 15 months of accommodation, utilities, scheduled transport and amenities. An aircraft type rating may cost approximately ₹15–30 lakh depending on fleet and training location. Ask for a current written quote covering extras, India conversion and travel.

Can I visit the campus and see the simulator?

Yes—contact the team to arrange a visit. Confirm availability, the campus address and any applicable simulator session fees before travelling.

Does a CPL guarantee an airline job?

No. Completing a CPL does not guarantee airline employment. Further requirements, airline vacancies and selection processes determine your next step.
